Islamic Antisemitism: A Critical Examination of Theological Foundations and Historical Manifestations
This paper critically examines Islamic antisemitism, focusing on its theological foundations and historical evolution. While Bernard Lewis acknowledged that internal forces within Islamic theology contributed to antisemitism, he emphasized the influence of external factors, particularly European sources. In contrast, this study argues that elements of antisemitism are deeply embedded within Islamic theology itself….

A Critique of Ziba Mir-Hosseini’s Humanistic Ethic of Social Justice
Ziba Mir-Hosseini employs feminist theory and global human rights principles to promote and implement legal changes to Islamic law to achieve gender equality. She proposes the pursuit of an alternative “sacred spiritual project” as a means to advance gender equality through these legal reforms

The Qur’an’s Composition: Assessing Andrew Bannister’s Oral-Formulaic Study of the Qur’an
This paper assesses Bannister’s work by examining the following. First, the Qur’an’s use of Biblicist material and how that material is linked to the historical roots of the Islamic tradition will be examined to see if the use of that material reflects the characteristics of an oral text. Second, the merits of using OLT as the theoretical basis for establishing the orality of the Qur’an will be analyzed. Third, an examination of Bannister’s sophisticated computer analysis of the Qur’an, which he used to detect the level of oral-formulaic content, will be carried out. I will not offer much of a critique here…

Gender Justice in Islam: An Evaluation of Ziba Mir-Hosseini's Religious Epistemology by Examining Her Interpretation of Qur'an 4:34
This thesis examines Mir-Hosseini’s hermeneutical strategies to reinterpret how Islam understands gender equality by evaluating whether she allows the text to speak or uses specific hermeneutical methods to create the desired egalitarian meaning. I argue that her strategies fail to succeed by examining her understanding of Qur’an 4:34, which she considers the linchpin to furthering gender oppression in Islam, by utilizing Aysha A. Hidayatullah’s work as a framework of examination…

Christians, Muslims, and the Transgendered Debate
In this video, I discuss the perspectives of Christians and Muslims on the transgender issue and the broader LGBTQ+ movement. The talk begins by acknowledging that Christians and Muslims are compassionate toward individuals experiencing gender dysphoria. Still, they have concerns about the rapid societal changes driven by LGBTQ+ activism, which they feel is infringing on religious freedoms.
Quaranic Insights: Perspectives of the Jewish People
In this talk, I delve into the Quran's unique perspective on eschatology, how it evolved, and how its theology affects the understanding of the Jewish people. Muhammad received revelations from Allah over 23 years, shaping the doctrine of eschatology, the study of the end times and divine judgment, within the Quran. I aimed to provide an evidence-based understanding of this topic.
